Class of 57 Class Reunion
Minutes of reunion
committee.

Minutes:
Minutes of the meeting held on 1September
2008 were confirmed subject to correction as to Pete Macnamara’s
registration being corrected to show as (1).

Financial Report
Kevin
Dell advised that he had not been provided with a statement from the
bank and he was unable to supply an update of the bank account.
Registrations
Again due to the non availability of a bank
statement Kevin was unable to provide an update on registrations. He was
however able to confirm that there had been some additional
registrations received.
As soon as an up to date bank statement was received Kevin will
compile an update of the situation and advise this to Allan
Campbell with a request he follow up those outstanding. In this
respect it was agreed that the final cut off for time for registrations
will be 3 November 2008.
It was also noted that those class members without access to a computer
may not be receiving the minutes. Peter MacNamara said that he would
arrange for copies of the minutes to be posted to those without an email
address.
Venue
Bob McLean advised that Peter Robinson and
Peter MacNamara had inspected the Borland Lodge facilities.
Peter MacNamara advised that the facilities had been revamped and were
first class and he was extremely impressed by them.
Peter said as the Ablutions were separate from the sleeping
accommodation that there was a need to walk between the two facilities.
Participants should therefore note that they will need to allow to bring
a dressing gown.
The two Peters had a good discussion
with Paul Brown the lodge manager who showed them the activity
facilities available at the Lodge and at the same time reaffirmed that
the Lodge Trust had a total commitment to make the reunion a successful
one.
Reunion Costs
Based on the expected participation the
following were estimates of the costs per single person:-
Meals at Borland Lodge $100
- payable to the Organizing Committee.
(Covers Breakfasts, Saturday men’s lunch, formal meal Saturday
evening, and Sunday evening meal)
Accommodation $110.00 - payable to the Lodge Office
at Borland.
(Covers accommodation, bedding)
Other Costs as incurred by the individual
Friday evening meal at Waiau Hotel Tuatapere own cost.
Saturday Ladies Tour and lunch own cost.
Sunday sightseeing and lunch own cost.
Drinks over weekend own cost. |
NB Participants need to provide their own
towels, soaps, toilet paper, insect repellent and raincoats.
T-Shirts
Production of these was discussed and is to be followed up in
consultation with Ewen Chamberlain
Pictorial record of the reunion
Peter MacNamara agreed that he would take
responsibility for taking the photos.
Eulogy
Pat Killeen advised that he had been
misunderstood on this and said that he wished to undertake this on the
basis that he would do it on the one day.
Church Service
A church service will be held at Borland on
the Sunday before breakfast. It was also agreed that there would be
grace said before meals.
Marist School Cap
Any one with a school cap is asked to get in
touch with the Organizing Committee.
General Business
It was noted that along with tea towels,
dish-clothes, and cleaning fluids that beer, wine and spirit glasses etc
would need to be provided by the Organizing Committee.
