Class of 57 Class Reunion


Minutes of reunion committee.
 

1.     Present:

Bob McLean (Chair), Kevin Dell, Peter Enright, Peter MacNamara, Peter Robinson and Tony McGowan.

2.     Apologies:

Ewen Chamberlain

3.     Minutes:

Minutes of the meeting held on 6 December 2008 were confirmed subject to correction of the number of T Shirts being corrected to read 60.

4.      Agenda

Financial report

Full statement of Accounts (see below) but in brief  $1,714.19 remains in bank after all expenses have been met. This sum comprises overpayments by six persons amounting to $620.77.

It was resolved that the overpayments be refunded as follows:

J Hair             $50.77

P Newell        $40.00

M Dowling      $50.00

C Pasco         $160.00

K Dell            $160.00

R O’Connell    $160.00

 It was resolved that Bonus Bonds to the value of $1000.00 be purchased and held  by Kevin Dell and this amount plus any amounts accruing to be available for use with the next reunion.

 It was resolved that the balance sum of $93.45 is to be put on the bar at Molly O’Gradys at a get together for the Outgoing Reunion Committee.

 It was resolved that the Bank Account at the National Bank Invercargill be closed.

 General Business

 A vote of special thanks was passed to Allan Campbell and Jim Hair for their  concerted input into the reunion.

 A vote of thanks was also passed to Land Information Services Limited for the use of it meeting facilities.

 As a follow up on the consensus view from the reunion it was agreed by the Outgoing Reunion Committee that there should be another reunion in three years time. In view of the numbers residing in Christchurch it is suggested that group might like to be the organizers.

 It was also suggested that wherever there are a number of past pupils residing in a common locality they could meet yearly in that locality as a means of providing incentive to attend the next full reunion.

 Meeting closed at 8pm.
