Class of 57 Class Reunion
Minutes of reunion
committee.
1.
Present:
Bob McLean (Chair), Peter Enright, Peter Robinson and Tony
McGowan.

Peter MacNamara, Ewen Chamberlain.

Minutes:
Minutes of the meeting
held on 4 October 2008 were confirmed subject to correction as to record
Bob McLean as part of the team inspection of the Borland Lodge
facilities.

Financial Report
Not available.
Registrations
Due to the non
availability of a financial report there was no update on registrations
which were closed off on 3 November.
Bob reported
that he had received emails from Jim McSoriley, Bruce Thompson and Peter
Chiaroni’s wife. Jim McSoriley advised that due to a wedding in the
Napier that weekend he would not be attending the reunion. Peter
Chiaroni is due to undergo an operation and it is uncertain that he will
be able to attend. Bruce Thompson is likewise uncertain.
Programme

Friday
Assemble at
Kelvin Hotel Invercargill at 2pm for drink and snack (cost $8 per
head) leave Kelvin by coach at 3pm for Tuatapere.
Arrive Waiau
Hotel Tuatapere 4.30pm for drinks and evening meal (meal cost $20
per head). Leave Waiau Hotel by coach 6pm for Borland Lodge.
Arrive Borland
Lodge where Manager Paul Brown will explain about the facilities
and other matters of necessity.
Saturday
Breakfast cooked
or continental self serve 7.30 - 8.30am.
Women leave by
coach at 9.30am for Tuatapere etc - a day trip. Pay as you go.
Men remain at
Borland Lodge spending day reminiscing etc. Light lunch self serve
provided.
Evening meal
provided at Borland Lodge followed by entertainment.
Sunday
7.30am Church
Service
Breakfast cooked
or continental self serve 8 - 9 am.
9.30am all leave
by bus for Manapouri for boat trip to West Arm and Power Station
visit.- cost $63 per head plus lunch extra at $14 per head.
5.30 return to
Borland Lodge for BBQ Tea.
Monday
Breakfast cooked
or continental self serve 7.30am - 8.30am.
Clean up
facilities.
Pay Camp Manager
for facilities use.
Bus leaves for
Invercargill 9.30am arrive 11.30am. |
Opening
Proceedings
The possibility of Tim
Shadbolt opening proceedings at the Kelvin Hotel to be explored. Kevin
Dell to follow up.
Music
Sheets
Peter Robinson will
supply these.
Banjo
Patterson Poems
Tony to provide copies
of poems for distribution to reunion attendees.
January Meeting
A meeting in January
will deal with the allocation of rooms, meals detail and the ordering of
Reunion T Shirts.
Marist
School Cap
Still have not been
able to establish the existence of a school cap. Reminder to any one
with a school cap or knowing of the whereabouts of one is asked to get
in touch with the Organizing Committee.
General
Business
It was noted again
that along with tea towels, dish-clothes, and cleaning fluids that beer,
wine and spirit glasses etc would need to be provided by the Organizing
Committee.
